Last week, I spoke at the Women’s Leadership Conference presented by the MGM Resorts Foundation. This powerful two (2) day conference was attended by 1,500 amazing women and a few good men. 🙂
During my sessions, I shared the five (5) keys we need to Live In Our POWER and living in our power was a common theme for several of the speakers.
Suze Orman kicked off the conference with this eye opening statement, “Power attracts money. Powerlessness repels people and money”. #NuffSaid, RIGHT!!!
Immaculee Ilibagiza, survived the Rwandan genocide that killed over 1,000,000 people in 91 days, by hiding in a 3×4 bathroom with six (6) other women. When the horrific killings ended, all of her family, except her brother who was away at college and most of her friends, were murdered. During Immaculee’s session, she enlarged the hearts of every attendee with her life-changing message on how forgiveness empowers us to reach our greatest heights.
Tarana Burke, the founder of the #metoo movement provided tremendous insights on the POWER of giving words and a voice to our situations and circumstances.
It was so appropriate that POWER, our inner POWER was the anchor in almost every speaker’s message.
One of the attendees at the conference, saw me in the hallway, and said THANK YOU!! Thank you for releasing me from feeling like I have to do everything!!! Knowing that I can focus on the the THREE MOST IMPORTANT things/goals, and I can stop doing those miscellaneous time stealing activities that keep me busy but not productive, has truly freed me to LIVE IN MY POWER!!!
Many of us are so stretched, overwhelmed and stressed that we are living below our true power. We are so busy focusing on what’s outside of us that we are missing the essence of what empowers us.
My favorite book says, “Greater is He who is in me that He who is in the world”. But the majority of us are captivated throughout our day by the images we see outside of us and THEN we work to measure or meet these external benchmarks, without any internal assessment of what is most important to us.
I want to encourage to spend more time WITH and ON you and what is MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU!!! Set aside at least 15 minutes, this week, and answer the following questions. And, as you know with me, these questions apply to your personal and professional life AND I don’t know, is not an option.
1. What do I want?
2. What are three (3) things I want to accomplish by December 31, 2018?
3. What are three (3) things I need to stop doing by September 31, 2018?
The TIME IS NOW was the theme for this year’s Women’s Leadership Conference. And the TIME IS NOW FOR YOU to LIVE IN YOUR POWER!!!
Below are a few photos from last week’s POWERFUL conference.
